FOREIGN LANGUAGE FILMS SUBMITTED FOR 80TH ACADEMY AWARDS®
Nominations for the 80th Academy Awards were announced on Tuesday, 22 January 2008, at 5:30 a.m. PT (8:30 a.m. ET) in the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater.
A record 63 countries*, including new entrants
Azerbaijan and Ireland, submitted films for consideration in the Foreign Language Film category for the 80th Academy
Awards® for Best Foreign Language Film of 2007. In June, the Academy invited 93 countries to enter, sending
